Anyone used the Twine, Glind or McPauls?

I've been offered this Glind one although the price isnt a 'bargain' yet, but hes keen to sell. He bought 18mths ago, used once, but wants nearly current retail for it, but will work on that.



Is a permanently mounted one better than this type above?


Wondering what people think of what they have used?? Good or bad..

Anyone know places with good prices on these kits?

At the risk of opening the door to "comments" many members of the Mitsubishi Club up here appear to have car-mounted showers - I'm not sure if they're Glind or Twine (could be both) but I haven't heard of McPauls before.

If I get one (probably will, to keep the GF happy) it'll be car mounted - less stuff in the shorty cab the better.

I have just put a car mounted Glind in the cruiser (GF loves me even more now) theY are great, money well spent.

I just put a permanantly mounted one on my GQ and it is so easy.

I thought about maybe getting a portable one but then when you think that you need the truck there anyway and it still needs to be running.... why not just mount it in the car.
Less components and less to carry in the truck. The case for the little ripper looks reasonably bulky.

What are they worth new????? I got my glind from head store in Bribie Is.
Only about 20Min from my place.

They all do about the same job. Glind has the patent on the original units so all others are really just a copy with slight variations maybe.
I know the Mcpauls one has less bolts holding the two outer housings together plus a few other things. I have also seen a twine unit that had failed due to the baffle inside it (made of copper) vibrating against the outer case and putting a hole in it. (caused motor damage due to overheat). I am sure there are horror stories for every unit out!!!

Ya wont go wrong I reckon either way they will both be an bonus out in the bush/beach wherever

what did you pay for your glind?

I got 1 a reckon its ace. Its a in car one though as I reckon the removable one would be fiddly and just another bloddy thing to pack. Also it has been used to clean radiators full of mud off road at times.

Yeah I got an Auto-shower brand from Brown Davis in Bayswater about 3 years ago from memory it was around $650 and it's the portable kit.
Yeah it is something else to pack but depends how much room you have under the bonnet to. I bought the portable one so it can be used on my mates vehicle as well and it just requires the heater hose to be cut and the snaplock fittings installed on the cut ends.
Works very well, to give you an idea a 25ltr jerry can gives about a 7min shower plenty of time to de-crustify yourself after numerous beer shits out in the scrub. The Jabber has a hand throttle so I set it to about 1600-1700rpm and the water is nice and warm (not too hot).
A very good investment if your camping a lot......................
