Panhard Bush Life

I was wondering what sort of life people are getting out of there panhard rod bushes, mainly the front.
I have an 89 GQ with a 4 inch lift, fitted with drop boxes to fix the front caster angle, I went out and bought Superior Engineering Panhard rods 14 months ago and the bush on the diff end is already flogged out, the vehicle has only done 15xxxkm with these panhard rods and I am suprised the bush has flogged out already. Is this normal?
Cheers
Isaac

When you say flogged out what do you mean. Is the car head shaking or is it just from a visual inspection.
Biggest thing that will kill em is oil or diesel ie leaking from above from either steering box or pump etc.
Other than that maybe check that the axle is located in the correct spot (panhard adjusted correctly) and I have seen a lot of people put the lower washer on round the wrong way too.

Give a bit more info and we may be able to help more.

Remember that factory bushes last a long time in a factory car cause they generally don't get used offroad and abused. Once people put a lift in the truck they generally start using it a bit more offroad and therefore put a lot more load etc on parts and bushes. 15000 is a lot compared to what some offroad trucks get.

As mentioned above 15000ks out of panhard bushes in a truck that is used often off road is actually quite good. If you think you have issues with your front end chewing through bushes the only real way to find out if there is any dramas is to take to some one that can do complete and thorough alignments and have them check over everything from correct castor angles through to front to back alignment. Your other short term option is to give the guys at Superior a call and ask them.
