I am currently looking at a sierra, just for a weekend toy and to gradually build into a decent truck for comps, Im just wondering if there are any problems i should be looking for, or any common problems or where is common for rust to hide?
Im completly new to suzi's so looking for a heads up.
thanks

there are a few places rust likes to get on them.
Check around the headlights, at the base of the B-Pillar. Around the front window. If it still has it lift up the plastic floor lining and look in the corners, if you pull the plastic doorjam trims off some times they rust behind them and the same for the rear tail gate.
If you wanting to modify it later on I would be looking for a Leafy or a leaf sprung not a coily. (there are no where nere as many things you can get off the shelf to modify a coily.
As for it just being a weekend toy. 31" tires 2" shackles and 2" springs will get you most places you want to go.
Good luck and welcome to Outters and the Suzi way of life

try and steer clear of one with mud and signs of water under the carpet and in the engine bay. Also one that has done a bit of beach work may mean you snap every bolt you try and undo underneath the car. Most have had a hard life when used offroad, personally i prefer to start with a nice clean stocker.

I agree with what he said, the stock screws are a pain in the ass to undo as it is!
