Hey,
This sounds like it might be the beginning of some good information, I'm particularly interested in a few differences supposedly between the TD42 early NA and the Late TD42 as well as the TD42T and TD42Ti. Things I'm trying to find info on are Oil squirters in bore/block are they different in length size or what? another is; Conrod sizes between the above mentioned motors; and finally for now anyway is Pistons?
Pic would be awesome also I currently have a TD42 NA that was turbo'd in bits with No 4 piston cracked!!

Interesting to read. Can you please PM me who turbo'd and tuned it for you?
We are in the process of rebuilding yet another 4.2 at work at the moment, There is 1 guy doing the turbo and tuning, and they are going bang 10-20K after he has touched it (latest one hasnt even completed 5K :( ).

So interesting to see if its the same guy as previous customers are currently doing the required paperwork for a Fair Trading claim.

AFAIK - There are differences, some of the early non turbo motors did not have oil squirters (these are prone to cracking the pistons), but the ones that did are all of the same size and length.
Pistons are different between turbo and non turbo, as are rods.
