turbo mainfold. oil feed. oil drain. water feed if turbo is to be cooled with water. oh and most important. a turbo :finger:

haha joking man. run low boost and it should last a while depending on condition. there very strong motors.

This one we built about 6 years ago, still going strong to this day after many trips through the desert and up around the cape towing a big van.
Makes just over 200kw at the wheels on 6psi boost.

Since those photo's were taken, it has also had Auxiliary injectors, twin fuel pumps with surge tank, and larger primary injectors added. Boost upped to 12psi and 250kw atw

Cost? LOTS!

I'm guessing if I want to run LPG it has to be an injection system. My LPG is through the air intake. Don't know if it can be turbo'd with this system of LPG.

u cant run an intercooler with lpg as the mixer has to be on the cold side of the turbo.if u run an intercooler and it backfires it will explode.if you hav vapour injection its not a problem though.if you hav an imco system though i dont think it will work at all .

Yup, Draw through systems on turbo applications is a nono. Even without the intercooler, a backfire can damage the compressor and housing of the turbo rendering it unusable.
If your looking for more performance/better economy.
Have a look at the gas system, alot of dodgy installers use restrictor rings (venturi's) that are designed for 2-2.5L Motors, not 4.5L.
Custom intake systems utilizing 2 smaller venturi's or 1 much larger one are necessary to allow these engines to breath.

I had a flacon in the shop the other day with this same problem. Turned the gas system off and removed the venturi from the intake.
Manifold vacuum at full throttle dropped from -2.1psi (that is unbelievably HUGE!) to .1psi, power picked up by more than 25kw.

He is now saving money each week by running the car just on ULP without the restrictor in the system.

the ring type mixer is the better type for gas, usually cruisers run a spud between the airbox and the afm.unless they have an imco which has a complex mixer that are more restrictive than the rings. the factory ford system has a ring in the t/b.ive done draw through gas turbo,s before and nver had problems with the turbo and you dont generally need a cooler with gas as its cooler and is higher octane you just need to take care with your setup.

You can get a turbo throttle body to suit turbo inj motor with old school gas setup , it wirks with a equalizer pipe going to intake or similar , a mate has this set up on his turbo petrol patrol using old style gas system , inthink gas power make the tbody for around $400-$500 .
Gas injection is a much better set up though with no intake restrictions,
I've just gas injected my 2000 turbo 1fzfe , power is awesome and cost similar to a slow diesel cruiser to run.

This is the gas injectors being mounted and wired up.

How would you rate the turbo Beenie mate , I have been looking into theM but find mixed reports, what brand are you running mate?

Are you running a Unichip setup with that turbo ,Unichip dealer in Perth didn't want to know about a turboed 1fz said they just stick to STD motors.

Yep unichip runs the whole lot easily.
Shame the shop in Perth turned you away, that sure does give the product a bad name when shops act like this.
Why bother doing aftermarket tuning and then sticking to standard motors lol. Maybe someone from APS should have a word to them about this.

As for the beanie. Well we found it to be absolutely necessary. Or at least alot of heat shielding in that area.
If you dont, it will melt all your cables and be a fire hazzard.

The vehicle has changed hands recently so I will actually be able to get a few more photo's of this car soon with all the new goodies on it.

you run the equilizer pipe to the rear of the converter, same as if you put a snorkel on. vapour injection is the go but.

That's Ringing a few more bells in my head ,
Running a hose from the rear of the converter to a bunge to between the airbox and the front of the turbo , this gives the diafram thing inside the converter back to a vacuum style pressure to work normally , as once you turbo a STD gas setup the change of air pressure from vac to pos makes it a no go

Available at most auto shops for around $200. Depending on what size you need.
Or, I get them through our supplier with a multitude of different brands/logo's on them for about the same price.

Brands is much of muchness for these things they are all fiberglass packed type anyway.
Is your turbo internal or external gate?

Try http://www.merlynproducts.com.au" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Ive used these guys for some custom stuff and they are the ducks guts when it comes to heat protection.

I'm running the xr6 falcon Garrett turbo with the factory internal waste gate but it seems to be not the best boost controller with a 3" zorst, the manifold has a spot for a external waste gate so I got a waste gate just need to plumb it up then can the STD one, the turbos a high mount.

Thanks for the links I'll be checking them out

APS do a large valve for the internal waste gate on your GT35R.
They are a real bugger for boost control due to their tiny wastegate valve.

I have done a couple of GT35 mods in the past. Basically just die grind the housing out considerably and fit the large swing valve in there.
I used an old chev 350 exhaust valve which measured up perfectly :)

If not, external gate is the way to go, its hard to see but we have a turbosmart 38mm gate on the cruiser in the photo's above.
