Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hey guys, Just wondering if i could get some info on a shorty patrol im looking at its for 4 grand and is a 1986 model with 250k on the odo (this is good for a shorty right?) just wondering what are the main things too look out for on them when i go for a look. Like rust spots? anything that goes wrong with them and needs replacing? also how do they handle long drives about 400k's without stopping? and back then next day? Last one haha what was the stronger engine the 3.3 turbo diesel or the petrol?

For 4 grand I would step up to a GQ patrol with coils!! Would most probably be a petrol though for those $$$$.
