Just a quick question probably a stupid one but I want to change from a 5 inch lift to a 3 or 4 inch lift if I do this will I have to change my castor angle on my front arms? Or will my drop boxes to suit a 5 inch lift still be ok? And also my panhard rods and everything will have to be adjusted aswell won't they? Cheers guys

I run Superior drop boxes with a 3in lift. Drives better than stock. Same with panhards. just adjust them if you need to.

You will get a bit more positive caster running drop boxes for 5 inch with a 3 or 4 inch. General rule of thumb is one degree of caster per inch of lift.
How it affects your truck I can't say for sure, but generally increasing caster increases the return to centering effect of the steering, but at the same time making the steering a bit heavier. It can also help with straight line tracking.
Often increasing caster above standard specs is done with bigger aggressive tires for that very reason.
My advice wwould be to just do it. Then if it doesn't work out sell the 5 inch boxes and buy some to suit the new height. It seems unlikely you'd get any nasty effects of too much castor assuming the front end is in good order right now.

i have read running too much castor can cause as many issues as not having enough.
but like all the patrol front end issues, it depends on the specific rig.
as has been suggested, leave the boxes and see what happens, they will hang lowww though.
if it doesnt work, try without them, i reckon you would get away with it.
and if not, you will have to get some 3" ones.
and yes, panhards will need adjusting, and draglink as im assuming you have an adjsutable if you ahve adjustable panhards.
cheers, andy
