Wiring a relay??

Its prolly been asked before and yes I tried to search for it BUT I just wanna know what numbers the wires go to on a relay. The last one I had in this circuit stopped working so I pulled it out thinking it wasn't needed, but I now want to re-install it to use my roof light bar. I have wire and terminations and lights, but will buy a relay.
