large tyres on 8 lug rims

Ok outers crew, tyre question

I have a 46 chev truck to go on a F350 chassis. The truck originally had 22.5 inch steel rims running a tyre equivalent to 37'ish inches. The chassis has 16 inch rims with standard dually 8 lug centers.

Now, a 32or 33 inch tyre is going to look retarded in a wheel well designed for a 37 inch truck tyre, but i don't know that the normal tyres you would fit on a 16 inch rim would be "E" load rated.

Can anyone tell me if they know where i can get 8 lug, 22.5 inch steel rims ( i like the steelies - they suit the working look of the truck) so i can fit normal truck tyres to them?

Or alternatively, any E rated tyres to go on a normal 16 inch rim?

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

the cab/truck in question. Actually, if i could i'd rather find a way to re-center the original rims. I'd love to keep those centers with a new stud pattern.

eastern wheel works in Melbourne re center rims to suit your application. have had a few done over the years.
there would be someone similar up your way i'd imagine.
Mate of mine is running 37" maxxis bravo 751s on his F truck to match the 750/16s on nthe rear (4WD so has to match ratios as well.)

Nice. Any pics of said truck? Does he find he gets much squirm or does it affect handling? I'll google them for a pic and load rating of tyre.

The new tyres i put on the cruiser are (e) rated, pro comp all terrains extrems , you probley could get them in a 37 and load rated

http://www.procomp.com.au/Default.asp?M ... C_TYRE_XAT" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

the 37s are rated to (e) but 20 inch rim

Cheers Rob

I just had a look, even with load range D, they're good for 1300kg each. So with a dually rear i'll be able to go up to 5400kg, which less a 1 tonne rear axle weight gives me 4 tonne on the tray.

sounds good to me.

37 x 12.5's on remanufactured 20 inch old skool jelly bean rims sounds like a goer to me. :armsup:

I'll chat to you soon about the watto's mate, i'm still keen for it. "May" have found me a reasonable job back at home too.
