A mate reckons that if I put free wheeling hubs on my 94 Pajero I will get better millage.
Any truth to this?

The disconnect on the centre diff means the front axles are turning, but not the crownwheel, pinion and front driveshaft. Manual free-wheeling hubs will reduce the rotating mass a little more, but whether the difference will be noticeable is doubtful.

However, freewheeling hubs give you the ability to disconnect from a damaged CV if you need to, so they're not a waste of time, either.
