I dont know if he still owns it or he sold it.
# the guy who owned/built/raced it is Adrian Couchie.
# he had help/advice by all the right people & took it to the right places to get it done.
# I think Rowan Canavan has spent many hours waving his magic wand on this truck.
# he used to do events like the vic ATECO WINCH CHALLENGE. OUTBACK CHALLENGE(from 99 to mid 2000's) QLD WINCH CHALLENGES (in the early days when the sport was alive) ect-ect.
# he now owns a TJM STORE in vic somewhere
# if you ring TJM head office (qld 07-38659899) & ask Brad for ADRIAN COUCHIE's Vic store location & ph - no

I remember seeing it roll onto its roof on a navnight comp after the drivers ambition outwayed his talent. hehehehehe did stuff all damaged and drove away though.
We broke 3 rangies on our stage that night

pretty sure it had that running gear when Adrian had it. Remember looking at it in his workshop, fairly sure he said the engine cost around $27k

it would be $27k at his buy price. at an RRP buy price you would be looking at a whole lot more than that.

my FATROZA was up around the $25k mark, & I got a lot of help from sponcers, & didnt have the massive $$$ motor or big $$$ suspension. I dont think people actually realise how expensive it is to build & keep a comp rig that is to be competing at the pointy end of the field.
go to ARB or TJM & ask how much:- heres a ruff eg but still under priced
$4k+ = F & R diff locks fitted
$8k+ = twin motor gigle pin high mount winch with widened drum, air free spool, bracing,50mtr synth rope+spare motors & rope.
$10k+ = mildly modified motor
$4k+ = mildly modified auto-quickshift & transfer case.
$2.5k+ = GU running gear.(un-braced)
$1.5k+ = chassis mods to get the GU gear in there.
$1.5k+ = custom f & r drive shafts + spares(need custom due to new motor & running gear.
$6k+ = custom double bypass coil over shocks with hydrolic bump stops & spares.
$4k+ = 6 x 37" tyres + rims bead locked (internal or external)
$0.8k+ = recovery equiptment (ground ancor, snatch blocks, shackles, gloves, winch dampers, tree trunk protectors ect ect
so far this little list is up around the $40k mark without a car, without a paint job, without cages & bar work

wow thats the first time I sort of added it up.
NOW I KNOW WHY MY WIFE HAS HAD ENUFF OF MOTORSPORT.
& thats probably why you dont see many of the original comp guys out there anymore.

cheers piggy
