What type of bluetooth headsets are people using for comp work?
I bought some cheap shatty headsets like these
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Motorcycle-Bluet ... 19c0817abd" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
but they're a dead set turd to use. I needed to re-pair them each time, battery life sucked and now one wont work!
I'm looking at these
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/SENA-SMH10-DUAL- ... 3366d1ef7d" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
after reading a few reviews they seem good but a few $$$, is there another set i should look at, or do i just spend the coin on something good like this and have done with it?
Cheers Pricey.

we run the ones you currently have. They are ok for the price. Never had to re-pair them, and battery life is ok but we charge them regularly as well, and always turn off the intercom when we dont need it. Having said that, they are only a couple of months old, and I wouldn't mind having a back up set (dont really trust them)

I have run Cardo Scaler Q2 and never had any dramas with using them in comps...but when we us them on the bikes if we get on different sides of the shed they don't work, thats about 30 - 40 meters apart

I am now running Cardo Scaler G4, these have a few extra functions these don't suffer the same problem as the Q2. The G4has a greater range as well. The other benifite with these is that you can rig up up to 4 of these units together and conference call, great for event like Toperi and the Logan Challenge.

PM me if you are interested in these, I have a contact theat has been looking after us.

These are the new ones DRS are talking about.http://cgi.ebay.com.au/New-Blueant-Ster ... 5d2d44c558" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; there are better prices if you look around,this was just the first one i found.
I use these myself and cant fault them at all.The batteries last all weekend during the social wheels Rhett organizers,so they are being used for longer than most comps.

You could quiet easilly adapt a pair of audio headphones and just stick the speaker and mic onto them. I have been thinking about doing it for when we go for a social wheel but as said in comps the navi is always wearing a helmet anyway.

Steve we have used these http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/PAIR-Bluetoo ... 1c263b294a" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for the last two years. No problems at all, excellent battery life we usually leave them on all day at a comp.

Cheers, I think thats the ones I've used before but weren't mine. The ones I can get for $100 are the next model up. They say good for 1Km where the ones you bought are 500m. Good to know that you like them. Do you get any crackling or interferance through them? I've heard people complaing about that.

Forget the $100 ebay, mine don't go 1km and they are really crackly from like 3m. I can see my navi yet the headsets don't work. I will be throwing mine in the bin and spending money on something that works. I should have complained and sent them back, but took too long deciding they weren't too good at all.

My wife and I use the Sena SMH10 on our bikes and they work well. We can be hundreds of metres apart and still hear each other clearly, even at high speeds. We rode home from the Vic border in heavy rain and they still worked the whole way. At $400 a pair they might be a bit expensive for what you guys are after though.

I use Bauhn helmet bluetooth kit that I got from aldis, works a treat, 5 hour intercom life , 500m range. Had no problem with then at all. stand by 300 hrs. was very easy to fit to the helmets I use it in. I'm sure they were less then $60 each
