Search was not my friend.

I'm looking at ways to improve the touring range of my SWB Paj :? and am wondering about the shape and mounting location of the 39 litre tank which comes with late model Patrol wagons - is it something I might be able to adapt under the floor?

Any help will be appreciated.

Cheers,

Scott

Because mine is a shorty the only replacement tank I can find only gets me an extra 30 litres. I can have it customised to suit the 50mm body lift, which will get about another 15 litres - for a fraction over $1000 installed (extra because they have to play with panel sizes before the CAM system cuts them out.)

I can find a 48l auxiliary tank to go under the floor on the passenger's side; $900 plus $300 fitting, uses a pump to transfer contents to main tank, requires switch and gauge in the cab.

A 39 litre Patrol tank should be significantly cheaper than either, and not too far short on capacity. If it is a convenient shape it could be relatively easy to mount. I figured if I don't ask I'll never know.

Cheers,

Scott
