Silo Tube/Section for sliders

Post by phat-customs »

I am chasing some Silo Tube, and, it seems to be rare as rocking horse droppings...

The other day I picked up a copy of 4x4 action and there was the Bonus DIY mag in the pack, inside they are making a set of slider for a rangie (project rangie, the red one) and are using Silo Tube/Section, its got a realy good profile and suits the rovers very nicly, but finding it seems to be the drama, have rang several steel suppliers in the hunter area, and the general consensus seems to be that its not avail in NSW, plenty of it in WA and SA but none up here.

For those wondering "WTF" it is, http://www.onesteel.com/images/db_image ... s/silo.pdfhere is a PDF on it.

So now im wondering if any Outers'ers people have access to it/have some/know where to get some/wanna gimmie some?

I only realy need 1X 8M length, my only option ATM seems to be to buy a 6 Pack of 12M lengths and freight it from SA to here, then I guess onsell the rest if I can shift it :?:

So, thoughts, info, stories etc greatly appreciated!

OR, any other groovy profiles of steel that may be out there and a little more easilly accessable??? Want something thats not the plain old RHS / SHS

Cheers, Robert.

This was in a Dvd about 2 years back, had no luck with finding it back then either. Would be useful in a rear bar build.

The info and pix in the DIY are pretty poor to say the least! But looking at the profile of the Range-Rover Sill Trim, long side at the top, with the angle pointing at a 45 out/down if that makes sence.

I have also tried almost very One-Steel supplier listed on the website in the hunter area.

Will give those couple of leads a shot,

thanks fellas!
