Outer Limits 4x4 Board

i want to fit the 4.11 diff gears that came out of my 1997 GQ ute into my 2006 GU wagon. Was thinking of doing it when i fit the lockers?

Will these bolt straight in?

yes. as long as your rear ute diff is a 233 not a 260

What gears do have in it at the moment?

the wagon has 3.9 gears in it atm

I thought it might be onthe compliance plate but i cant see it. Am i right in thinking the 233 and 260 are the diamter of the ring gear?

The gears are already out of the car so i could measure them if thats the case.

If you havent already thought wow the back diff is big then they will both be 233

if they are already out of the car then simply compare front and rear, if they are the same size then the are 233 (95% likely).

looking at the housings the bottom of a 260 is flatter on the bottom like \_/ and the 233 is round.

Look at the info plate under the bonnet. There is a coding, eg HG41.
HG= H233, HH= H260. Number = ratio. eg 39= 3.9:1, 41= 4.1:1, etc.
