Couple of Questions

I've got a busted rear shock and need to replace it. I'm wondering if I go for the ranchos mentioned in the threads about suspension (RS99197, RS99138, RS99296 ) will they be too long without a lift ? am I better off getting just a cheap replacement from the wreckers for now ?

Question no 2 is about the rubber boot that goes over the gear sticks to stop crap coming throught the hole in the floor. Mine is pretty RS what do you do about getting a new one ?are they available from wreckers etc ? or can you make up something custom ?

I ended up just getting a shock from the wreckers to replace the busted one. I'm still looking for a new rubber boot though.

Go to a place like Clarke Rubber and buy a thin piece of rubber to make you own boot. If you end up doing a body lift this is one piece to replace as the original boot gets more tension and helps the gearstick pop out.

Yep good one Blair thats one thing I still have to do.
You can cut it to suit and then cable tie or wrap some light gauge wire to seal it around the gear/t-case levers.

Yeah I've done a body lift I think that's my problem. The boot has pretty much ripped in half, I haven't had trouble with it popping out of gear though ;)

I'll give the Clark RUbber idea a go and see how it works out, Thanks.
