3.2 DiD into nk

Hey guys has anyone put a newer motor like a 3.2 DiD into an older model that had a 2.8itd??
I don't know about the 2.8 to 3.2 conversion, but it should be relativey straight forward, as rumour has it that they're the same block.
One of our members put a 3.2 into his NL shorty, but he was replacing a V6. I think his write-up was on Pajero Club Forum, which has since been upgraded, so it's probably lost. From memory, he had to make a custom sump?
