I tried getting child seats in my 40 series troopie but because the roof is bolted on its againt he rules the put a child seat anchor piont there So I bought a bj70 and put some forward facing seats in there. I ended up selling it though as the thought of lifting a baby over the front seats was just too much. I think you would be better off getting a 5door like a 60 or 80 series and sticking all 3 in the back. There are loads of rules about child seats so you really need to find an authorised installer and talk to them. Hope that helps.

I have an aftermarket rear seat in my troopie and use a child seat for my little one. Mine has a steel tube bolted to brackets installed above the rear row of windows. The child seat strap is hooked onto a hook on the bar. I believe it is called a crab bar? I don't think it is legal to install a child seat on sidefacing seats. Try to find a genuine six seater as the front passenger seat not only slides forward but rotates sideways to give you more room to climb into the rear. The 3 seaters dont do that. I've had both kinds and trust me, it is not fun trying to squeeze through a tiny gap carrying a toddler to put them in the back seat. Especially if your truck is lifted.
