Outer Limits 4x4 Board

recently fitted a reconditioned injector pump with nothing but troubles.
checked pump timing before removal, fitted the new pump but have since found it has a different timing mark on the front gear, has anybody come across this before or do you know how many teeth between the v mark and the o mark. there is a diference of 3 teeth on the 2 gears. problem is now truck blows a lot of smoke on start up.
