79 series R151 behind 3RZ

Post by Frankenyota »

Have a R151 from a 79 series that dropped 5th gear.
What i want to know is this box suitable to run behind a 3RZ eg correct input shaft lenght, will it be strong enough for a 3RZ?
Also can the split landcruiser be swapped for a hilux case?

Cheers

Better off ditching it and getting an R box from a hilux/4runner/surf as youll be stuck with the cruiser transfer otherwise.

From memory if you can sort out a bellhousing it should bolt up and work easy but haven't gone down that road yet. One of the guys with turbo 3rz's might have more info

Was thinking about a new project and already have the R151 laying around at work, so thought it could be used.
I could always run 60 series diffs and transfer which i already have, but i do like the hilux duals :D
