GQ wheel size, Offset and tyres????

This has prob been covered in here a few times but I'm not getting the answers i want from search.
I'm currently running 15x8 sunraiser's, 35x12.5 silverstone extremes and 4 inch lift. I have also cut my front and rear guards back a little over 2 inches.
Being so high, i feel it is getting a little top heavy, I have been considering putting on some 10inch wide rims and some more road friendly mudies (BFG's, MTR's, Bighorns). My question is, Will this give me enough width to get that stabitily back?
I seen a GQ today with Bunnings style flares and rims that nearly came out to meet the flares. Looked awsome and solid as.
Should i try a 10inch rim and if its not enough buy spacers? Or should I buy lancruiser offset rims in a 10inch?
Will having my guards cut back just over 2inches be enough to clear 35x10's with landcruiser offset?
I'm definately going to put on bigger flares.
Does anyone have a better option than bunnings flares? They are looking like the only option at the moment.
