GQ glow plug problems

Hey all,

now that were coming into winter my glow plugs are taking at least ten key turns to get going. This has only happened since the addition of the turbo. A mechanic told me that i could of fried them due to the extra heat the turbo produces... I found that to be a little :?: and to use GU glow plugs as they can take the heat... I thought they would be the same thing... the motors are the same bar the turbo and a few other small things...

Can anyone shed some light on this for me before i go out and by some new ones.

cheers

The GU uses a more advanced glow system, check the voltages of the glow pulgs as they may be different fom GQ to GU. Not sure without looking further into it.
