Ummm yea, so i don't have a way to upload pics right now, so i hope my description of the underlying mechanics is clear.......
Ok so i just received the apparatus that bolts to the side of injection pump. It is for an auto tranny setup, so there is a halfmoon lever where the kickdown cable from the tranny is secured on. Under and to the rear of the lever is a bell looking part, a rod is activated with a vacuum (pretty certain), that rod pulls the lever which opens the injection pump. Can someone tell me why would this function be necessary? The lever connected to the intake manifold (as it would in a manual) also pulls on the kickdown cable. Both pedal & kickdown lever are both connected to a common lever that opens the IP. My main inquiry is why is the kickdown pulled by a vacuum?
Thanks
Jonathan

Re: hzj80 IP auto lever
I havent seen an auto setup on those before, but what you describe sounds like the vacuum operated fast idle for the air conditioning, and on some models the power steering also. If the auto is the electronic model then there should also be an electric throttle position sensor.
