Where are the gearbox and transfer case breathers??

Hey gang.

Im trying to find the gearbox and transfer case breathers on my 86 LN65 dual cab Lux.

I have the cab off at the moment(part way through a cab swap), and thought Id put on some new breathers all round, Ive previously done f+r diffs, Im going to replace them too. Id rather do it now while its easily accessable.

But I cant find any obvious breathers on the gbox or transfer case. Ive looked through both my owners manuals, and they have nothing in them. Ive done a search on here, and a google on it, but have found no answers.

Can someone please tell me exactly where these little buggers are located, or post up a pic to show me what Im looking for.

Its a G52 gearbox, if that helps.

Tankyoo.

Anyone know where these things live??
Im putting the new cab on tomorrow and Id like to get breathers onto the gearbox and transfer case before I put the cab on.

I'm not sure where they are on a lux but post a pic of the top of the cases and it shouldn't be too hard to point out Antoine.

They're all near where the gearsticks bolt on. I think there was two near the gear stick for the gearbox and one on the transfer close by, they are plastic and look kind of like tyre valve caps.

No nothing on mine that even resemble valve caps. There are 2 things on the side near the top, that sort of look like welch plugs, with a hex head, but they are nowhere near the shifters.

Ive put the cab back on yesterday so they arent really accessable now, but if I find out where they are, then Ill worry about trying to get them done.

Hey bloke, i just had a look at my g52 on the shed floor and there does'nt seem to be any. They might just vent through the rubber gear boots. But on my r series box there are 2. Mine was behind a 4y. Hope it's some help to ya.

actually check the gear stick housing on the gearbox for g52. I may have been thinking of the r150.

I couldnt see anything anywhere on the gearbox, or transfer case that resembles a breather.

got a G52, I Couldnt find a breather on the Transfer case. But Right in Front Of The Gear Stick On The Top PLate Tucked In Between The Fins Is The Gbox Breather. Clean the Mud And Dirt And You Will Find It. Pics laterIf You Really Need It. Come Out of a 96 with a 2.8

Check the gearstick housing that usually stays with the gearstick unless you dismantle it.
