The front the castor has been corrected in the new springs and the new springs SHOULD be longer so the shackles sits the same.

Well the reason I asked this question is I recently bought drop shackles and was looking at getting the rear springs reset to 3 inchs. One of my mates has custom 3.5 inch dobinson springs and they work excellent with drop shackles. I have been trouble shooting for awhile and all I am left with is the shackle ankle. I am running standard springs as far as I know.

As Shane mentioned they should be longer, most manufacturers always put additional length into the main and wrap, some of the better spring designs they even slightly move the pin, most of the manufacturers are too arrogant to admit this should be done
If you do not want to upgrade your springs you can move the shackle mount to help with the angle.
A better leaf pack for flex is thinner leafs and slightly more opposed to less leafs that are much thicker.
7 x 7mm leaves will flex much better than 6 x 8 because the spring must also twist.
Also run wheel spacers to stop the wheel hitting the chassis.

I am getting some 3" springs made up. We will have both softer duty and heavy duty. They are single stage not 2 stage therefore there will be more flex available and more comfortable. They are 20mm longer and I will also be doing them for $750 for the pair. It would be great if we could compare them to your leaves. Where are you, if you are interested you could do a comparison test.

We could also compare them to someone who has extended shackles and 2" leaves.

I am happy to be proven wrong but no zero people who have been happy with re-set springs. Length is everything and size matters...

Oh and I have also been running extended shackles prior to drop shackles I am still running extended shackles I the front but I'm nt to concerned about the flex in the front as it is pretty good think I may just get it reset to make it ride at the same height if It sits to high in the back.
