Landcruiser help

Post by nayto »

Just bought myself a 97 1HZ ute. Its got 260K on it but had a hard life by the looks of it.
A couple things i need to repair on it are the speedo cable, and ignition barrel.
The speedo cable clicks and the needle jumps around, a new cable costs bugger all, what i need to know is how hard a job is it to do? Transfer case end is easy, but whats needed to remove it from the rear of the dash cluster, does the dash have to be pulled out?
Also the ignition barrel.....ive removed the plastic shroud around the column, what else needs to be pulled to get it out? I removed a few screws but no go.
Are there any more comfortable seats that bolt straight in with no/little mods?
Thanks in advance

You will have to pull your instrument panel out just enough to get your hand in behind. It's not a big job.
