My 100 series 1HZ is having problems starting. It just keeps winding over and over but wont fire. My fuel guage reads 1/4 of a tank but its possible the guage could be playing up and it ran out of fuel although didnt splutter or anything like you would expect. Just wondering what you guys think i should try. Thanks

Sounds like immobaliser issues. Not powering the start/stop solinoid.

its electrical m8. it just happens. also age. if you know the right people and they are wiling you can hard wire it. not recomended to try yourself if you dont know what your doing. you can replace them but they are about $800 each but when that happens you gotta reprogram your key to match the box

Heating system? You mean glow system won't be affected. Car will still fire even if glow plugs are too Ted. Just takes longer.

If you disconnect your glow plugs you will not be able to start you car in the morning after it's rested all night and the ambient is around 10 degrees.

Our 1hz 100s wouldnt start one day out of the blue, would just crank and not fire at all, after half a day of testing shit in the driveway as a last resort i pulled the glow plugs out and tested them on the ground. All 6 didnt even get warm. Fitted newies and away she went. I spoke to a diesel service who told me is wasnt that uncommon for after market plugs to die abruptly like this. Strange but true! Just an idea for you.
