Marlin Tack

I just ordered a set of Chromo CV's from Marlin Crawler - http://www.marlincrawler.com/axle/front ... -27-spline" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. I know 30 spline Long's are stronger but I'm only plannin on running 37's. They're on special at the moment for $109 each and also come with Marlin's inner axle seals. Delivery's $105 US.

What I want to know is, are people still using the Marlin Tack to do away with the inner axle outer C clip... http://tlc.off-road.com/trucks-4x4/tech ... 19404.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?

Has anyone had an axle let go because of the effected heat treatment after the tack weld?

Cheers

So no one puts a tack on their inner axle inner spline any more?

On a side note, I received the CV's from Marlin today. That's 4 working days to ship from the US. Very pleased.

I have never seen an axle failure from a Martac weld. The axle nearly always breaks at the slim part.

I used to do it without any dramas - the cv always broke first. Now I have longfield inners so nothing breaks.
