Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hi all,

my brother is looking at a D40 Navara and noticed some oil that has been sprayed around the rear of the engine bay. Has done 90k kms.

Has anyone had this issue before and is it a major issue (ie should he avoid the car)? What is the fix?

could be a buggered hose clamp by the looks of it.. looks like it could do with an oil catch can maybe?
