hi all.

well, the time is finally upon me to get an i/c for the trol. looking into a frozen boost one, as they seem good value for money, and with the current exchange rate, even better.

but, im having some trouble choosing the rite one. and here is why, if i remember correctly from school, air/fluid always takes the path of least resistance. correct?

if so, then this inter-cooler:

wont be as good as say this cooler:

because in the first one, the air can travel straight through the cooler, and bypass some the sides if that makes sense.
But, in the second one, its more or less forced across the whole cooler by the angled intake sides, and then its the same sorta deal on the way out.

but, what about a log/barrel cooler? they seem as though they would be the best, where all the air, is forced through the whole cooler, at the same rate, and with the least resistance. E.G:

another thing to consider is the water flow through the cooler, its great having all the air forced through, but with the water, will it evenly spread out amongst the cooler, and extract all the available heat? if that makes sense.

yes, i know that the laminovas are the ducks guts. and i would like one, but its a bit out of my price range.

well, i hope that that all makes sense, and hopefully somebody can help me out.

cheers

I don't think you will have any problems with this because you are putting it under pressure so it will fill what ever is between the turbo and intake. This is mine its a Type 10 core. custome rad by PWR and a in line holding tank, Its total capacity is a touch over 7lts.

Jason, with the limited room you have a medium sized front mount would be a better option mate.
As per our conversation on intercooling when you had it turbo charged, regardless of which way you go, a decent intake manifold will be an unbeatable investment for getting more airflow distributed evenly to all cylinders.

Swing by one afternoon and I will show you a couple of air/air front mount options on GQ's that you might like.

cruising around the net, i stumbled across this:

https://www.plazmaman.com/shop/index.ph ... itemId=336" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

looks the goods, and alot of surface area there to cool shit.

has anybody here used a plazmaman cooler before?
