hi all,
was at the wreckers on the weekend and found a Bundera on coils, was wondering what they are worth, the guy said i could have it for $1100 for the lot, he'l just rip the cab off.
i would look at using the diff's for the coils under my 45cruiser. so do you guys think this price is in the ball park?
and what would you guys do? just move the cab and running gear to the Bundy chassis or put the diffs under the 45 chassis?
cheers, all

I think the Bundy uses the same diffs as the Hiluxes do, just with coils instead of leaves. Alot of Lux guys will use Bundy parts if changing to coils.
If you want to put coils under a 40, most guys will use the 80s bits.
Theres quite a few on here that have 40s on 80s chassis. Have a stickybeak through the members section.
Which Wreckers?

Which wreckers was this Bundy at?
I am casing a body and could sort something out if you go with bundy running gear.
The Bunderas coil setup is not a MASSIVE improvement over what you have now (assuming leaves) for the amount of work that's involved.
Bundera's are control arm front AND rear so if you doing it for articulation - not worth it imho. If you doing it for comfort, the springs in there aren't all that comfy anyway.
Better off going the way dudelux suggests and find a rolled 80 series and rack the gear from that. VERY comfortable. You are dealing with a 5 link rear now and so will articulate TONS better than a stocko 45series

Hey Baja,
its at salisbury, soutside brisy, hmm i thought any coils would have been better confort and better for control over any leaf set up, not realy chasing to do the conversion as such, (so im going out of my way to find an 80) but sometimes things just pop up, so i would prob just keep it out the back for a future project for my 45, ive never found the coil bundy at the wreckers yet, they are pretty rare... I figure there was a reason for it,

Best off going with 80series chassis, and suspension, and putting the 40series body on there, alot have successfully done it. Or you could just fit the 80s suspension to your 40series chassis.
Just for the record, you can get leaves to work quite well, it takes a fair bit of effort and modding of leaf packs, and spring mounts, etc. But it can be done. But leaves will never be as comfy as coils.

yea that's what im looking for most i guess, which is the comfort,
ok so to try and get away with the 80 chassis thing, what do you think a wreck would be worth for one? and which diffs do you think would be stronger? as far as im aware the 80 diffs don't have the best rep?
thanks for the feed back keep it comming
