Driving along the freeway the other morning and snapped this photo of a lux running what looked like cruiser axles.

Anyone know what they are?

He is from up the Central Coast area.

should have blacked out the plate.

Did you atleast use the flash on the camera so he thought that it was a speed camera?

What is the purpose of "blacking out" number plates ?

Every other car on the road sees them, every pedestrian at the traffic lights sees them and every ricer at the mall will definately see them.

What is the big secret :?:

Looks to me as though they are standard hilux, maybe a wide track conversion!

Yeah they are LPG tanks. If you look closely there is a red dot on the numberplate just to confirm that it is running on LPG.

And what is that about blanking out numberplates??? Should he be driving around with tape over it?

The mags never blank out numberplates on feature trucks.

Up close they looked huge. Maybe just because they were painted yellow they looked bigger. It is running 35s and that may make the axles look smaller in this photo.

Are they bolts around the outside of that centre?
If so and it kinda looks like it to me then i think that will be an early Cclip style centre section out of a cruiser.

I have the high res shot at home... I will check tonight and post a high res shot of the axle only.

ha! I knew they weren't standard. The front was the same.

A bit difficult to get a good photo at 110kph in the rain...

110kph hey?! Funny how the speed limit is only 90kph  :finger:
AND it is raining, so more care should be taken. A way to do this would be to drive SLOWER like maybe 80kph :D :finger:

Remember....To save lives, slow down to drive

 Yes Mum...

The guy was hammering up the freeway and I was trying to catchup to take a quick pic of him. And yes we were doing well over the speedlimit at the time. Those that are familiar with the raceway that is the F3 freeway will know that 110+kph is the norm in the 90k zone...

After I took the pic I returned to normal speeds and let him go. And yeah, he probably saved a good 1.5mins on his total travelling time.

tony was far more accurate and specific!!

i was also leaning towards a 10 bolt corporate, some guys THINK this two piece POS is an upgrade  you would really wonder whats going on in his head if it was.... and to upgrade to that coarse spline centre? WEIRD, you could bolt a fine spline pinion on and be stronger, but how much? not much! and yellow cmawwwn!
