12mm copper - Help please

Where would I get 12mm copper tube, Ideally annealed in a coil.
Everwhere I try is 1/2" or 12.7mm
Its to replace a cooling coil on one of our european machines - the groove it fits in is 12mm so there is no way the larger size will fit, and I need to wind it around a barrel.
cheers bru

Couldnt you cut a short- say 50mm- length of 12.7mm, machine it down at one end to the 12mm, then use a straight 12.7mm joiner to adapt it up to the larger, more readily available size?

Thanks but No, it's a cooling coil that fits into a groove spiraled around a barrel. It's dia 250 and about 10 turns. It sits actually in a machined groove that's full depth with a 6mm rad bottom for complete contact of the 12mm tube. Might have to braze up the old one - but it in an alloy body and it's full of oil. These people have it listed half way down in the second list.

Just rechecked and it is a little confusing as it is shown as 12mm and half inch, but further up as 12.7 mm. Anyway they could be worth a try.

May be a long shot, buy you could try aircon/refrigerant line. I believe (but not certain) it is different in size to copper used for water service. It would be available in coils anealled

Air con and refrigeration pipe is all measured in imperial, 1/2 inch is as close as you'll find to 12mm from a refrigeration supplier

As said before refrig tube all measured in imperial, same size as plumbing copper only difference is its cleaner. Never heard of 12mm copper only 1/2 inch. Places like Airfrig, Actrols or heatcraft might be worth a phone call they may be able to point you in the right direction

Thanks guys, I have just tried Actrols and other refridgeration mobs and no luck..
Might have to buy from germany or similar.
Thing is - when my old boy was working ib Bris he saw some 12mm being fitted (after they failed trying 1/2") so I know it exists!

I know its a bit "blue striped apron" but might the 12.7 be gently hammered into the existing machined groove ?

Try Crane enfield metals in Penrith NSW, i used to work in their copper mill many years ago, it may be pricey but i think they would be able to do it for you, all copper pipe starts at about 4 inch diameter then they use a series of plugs and dies to gradually shrink or enlarge it. Not sure if they produce 12 mm but im sure they could, might cost you extra if they need to get tool makers to make a 12mm die
EDIT just had a look, check this link

... so now you know it exists twice
Maybe these guys could help you with a brand or point you towards a global supplier or something... or even ship to here for a price.
These guys:
http://www.orphanespresso.com/12mm-Soft ... _3962.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; say it is commonly used in espresso machines.
...

How fast do you need it? Lately I seem to find so much stuff out of the UK that I can't get here, it's mad.

Thanks for the lead, they can do it but 1700kg minimum order, and will need the tooling to be made also.
cheers bru

some have tried in the past - but you get about 1/3 of the way around and it pops out. It has a heater band on top of it also so if it increases in diameter it wont fit @ $400 a heater,
