Art Carr/Winters Shifter looks the goods and is used in offroad applications widely. Best thing about them is that you can smash reverse quick if you need to. unlike a b&m rachet style shifter you'll be smashing back through the gears while you're going head over heels trying to find reverse.

Can you use an auto shifter from the same model vehicle yo are building? You can mod the gates to suit your driving style. Or read this article about modding a rachet style shifter. Great article: http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista/shifter/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Been looking around a bit at the moment for my 40. Struggling to get confirmation that they'll work with the ZF auto I'm fitting but.

My first pick was the lokar, love its classic styling. They said it wont work with the ZF.

Genie's have similar styling too, but havent looked into them much yet.

ok fair call the jag shifter is the same patteren as the snake racing one and 3/4 of the price i looked at the B&M ones but they all have the reverse lock out and looked at the Lokar shifter but with where the back of it bolts to the auto is where the adaptor bolts to and would of had to made a new mounting for the back

We run a B&M pro ratchet in our comp truck with a turbo 400 , we have locked out the reverse lock out so you can just keep pulling the stick up and down and not worry about gates or lock out levers . Our trans is reverse pattern wish means 1st and reverse are only two taps away from eachother , i have looked at a heap of different shifters and i found this by far the easiest to modify and use , and you cant get the gear change wrong .
Hope that helps .
