engineering hights

so i rang the engineer today and he said 4 inch is the highest i can go and up to 33s
is this the case with all engineers or just this bloke?????
has anyone recently got something with 6 inch springs passed?????

Hey ben thats better than i could find up here, this mooney dcik head wouldn't even go 4". Keep call'n round man not sure what you'll find. mooney also said 33's max to me.

There are a couple of guys down here that wont touch anything over 2".
But they have no issue with any engine conversions...

same, engin swap to 5 liter v8 and ute chop he said yep go for it. . . . .
6 inch lift. . . .ooooooo fu#k no. 4 inch total lift and 33s only.
il try another place. . . . . .

I'm afraid thats about it, i'm going thourgh the same process and strugeled to find someone to do a 4" lift and 33"

they will all engineer it but it will probably have to go through the lane chnage test.. ie hire race track paramedics.. fire bregade all that bullshit change in and out of lanes over 50m or something at 80kms...
lots of hassle considering it take about an hour to swap springs in and out..

There's plenty of very competitive comp vehicles out there with 4 inches or less. You can't blame the bloke for knocking it back really.
Also read between the lines... 4 inches "total lift" often includes the extra tyre height.
If you go from 31s to 35s that is 2 inches of lift, then a 2 inch cab lift leaves you zero suspension lift.
Good on ya for trying to do it legally though.

ok what about cars with existing certificates. will they just be exempt from the new rules or will their certificates be worthless
my mate has a gq shorty. 6" springs 2" body and 35s. all engineered. a fair while ago,
also a mate with a hilux. atleast 6" lift and 35s all engineered

Hi mate,
I suggest you run 315x75x16" tyres. They come in at 34.6". The engineer will not pass 35" tyres as they are the max limit set by the rta, but a 35" tyre in a 16" rim comes in just under 35" limit. This is how my mates and I have got around this ruling. I can recommend AKZ Vehicle Engineering, John Wilson is his name.

if you have a look at the ARD rules it a over all height of 6 inchs i dont under stand you can a 700hp plus engineed but you have trouble getting get a smill lift engineed

unless the 700hp was in a car with the 6" lift
