Hey People,
I have a very annoying problem. On a 600km trip, my car uses about 500ml of oil. My engine starts fine every morning first go. Its only got 150000 k's on the clock so I don't know what it could be.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Dylan.

Using the right oil? They specify a high grade oil for them from memory
Blowing out the exhaust?
Blowing out the rocker cover breather and getting sucked through turbo

So far Ive tried penrite 20-50 diesel oil, and valvoline diesel oil, both show no difference. It blows bluey/white smoke at higher revs than down low, a part from when it's first started - it will smoke up until 3rd gear than go away.

Take the intake piping off the turbo and see how much oil is in there. I am betting if the rocker breather is still attached to this pipe (IE Standard) then the turbo will be full of oil. A catch can installed between the rocker and intake piping will help this, and give you an idea if this is where your oil is going
If that doesnt fix the smoking / oil eating it could be the turbo needs an overhaul, or the intake system is too restricitve ( blocked air filter, or snorkle) or there is something wrong with the engine (worn rings, valve guides etc)

My advice would be to have a COMPRESSION test carried out ASAP.
This will establish what condition the lower end of the engine is in, ie, pistons/rings/valves ect.
IF, these are within manufacturer's specs, only then, would I go lokking for something else.
