Hey guys a forum member I went wheeling with on here has inspired me to want to build my own custom trailer.
I currently have a gq patrol on gu diffs with 15x10 inch beadlocked rims, so my truck is quite wide so drive over axle will be required.
I am chasing some pics of custom trailers as I need more inspiration.
Cheers in advance
Regards
Mitch

Yeah wasn't getting at buying one off him but it will need to be approved for rego, they may be able to help out with suitable materials, chassis design etc. I'm in middle of building a trailer out of an old ute chassis and will be dropping in there next week.

Yeh I know about the rego side of it we have already built one. I might go check some of theirs out.
I was more just looking for designs on over axle ramps etc

make sure when you build go with a centre pivot between the two axle springs and NOT seperate spring hangers.
its like a see saw........ tows the best, and evens the weight out if loaded UNEVEN!!

You could also try have a removable guards and drive over the trailer tyres them put the guards back on. Have seen this done.

Thats pretty clever.
saves making super strong guards which weigh a lot and thus reduce your capacity!

I build horse floats and trailers for a living and the best advice I can give you is to ring Marshall Engineering and speak to them. They sell everything you will need cheaper then anyone else in Australia and will happily give you all the advice you need including the correct offsets and speed/ weight rated tyres for the trailer.
This is there web site which also has all the prices on kits to do it yourself. Also don't forget to get the latest rules and regulations before you start and check up on them again before you get your Brown Slip as the rules are always changing.
