Maybe add a resonator to the system. I dont think I've ever heard a exhaust growl from a diesel

stand behind your truck and get someone else to drive it - they do sound very different when your not in the car. also agree that growl probably doesnt describe the sound exactly but my exhaust certainly sounds different from the engine noise i hear in the cab.
i would also be talking to the supplier about what the system is designed to achieve.

Mate take out the main muffler and fit just a hotdog - because of the turbo you wont get a realy loud exhaust, do not have any mufflers at all it will be sweet ,this is what i have on my td42 turbo wagon and its a family tourer with a nice note!

in nsw straight through pipe is legal on diesels only no matter if they're a ute or not.

The legality part would have been referring to dumping straight after the cab

True but turbo gq can be easily misread is hate to see someone see this thread with a petrol then get pulled up by our boys in blue.

i have had mine through transport with exhaust dropped at cab the legality is it has to be past the last opening member i think or 40mm past the last welded joint in the cab i could have it either dump to ground or to the right hand side as its illegal to have it facing out the left hand side

This worked for me. Must exit on driver's side in order to protect pedestrians from fumes etc.
Trust me, this gives a kickass note,it's straight through 3".

Both my 4.2td GUs run 3inch systems with no mufflers. The ute dumps right behind the cab. The wagon runs right to the back. both sound great but the ute is definately louder
