Piston ring for 3l question

Hi all I am rebuilding a 3 l and have a question have had every bored and ground but I have noticed that there is a tapered pistion ring dose anyone know if it goes I at 1 2 or 3 and which way up it goes the book dose not tell me cheers

Tapered ring is the top ring but make sure its up the right way up.

Do u know if taper is on top side or bottmside rings only have letters stamped onto of them is that up not sure cheers for the help
