Airlock in VDJ cooling system

Got a problem with a V8 diesel VDJ79R 2011 Landcruiser cab/chassis, had to R&R radiator and now cannot get airlock out of cooling system.
According to diagram on air box you need to remove air bleed valve (top of radiator, no prob), filler cap (no prob), and "engine cap" (big prob - hasn't got one that I could find)
Highest point in cooling system is heater hoses around driver's side of intercooler, there is a small pipe coming from the lower of the two. I jacked front end up to get filler as high as possible, removed this pipe and air bleed from radiator, and still can't even get flow thru heater core as it is still blowing cold air. Got some hot air for a minute on fast idle but when I lowered car and drove around block heater went cold again. Temp guage sits just below half and of course used genuine Toyota coolant.
Haven't got the screw in adaptor for the Lisle filler to suit filler either so that's no help.
If anyone knows where engine bleed is or has further suggestions it would be greatly appreciated, thankyou in advance.
