Mine are made for a cj5 and they are level with the wide track flare. I think this is the maximum offset you can buy?

I think the speedy made sunnies for vitara offset offer more ofset for memory.

Having said that you can get the offset changed to whatever you want at a later date.

STUMPED has got some speedie rims with major offset (cant remember, might be in his members thread). When we fitted em to his rig he had about 2 inch of tyre at least outside his wt flare. Dunno how they treat the wheelbearings though :D .

Bazooked has 15x8 roh's with rev centres, 70mm offset, and i have 15x7 roh with 31x10.5 mtrs and they only just hit springs on full lock. bazooked has 32x10.5 (i think) and they dont get anywhere near his springs (which are cj jeep springs so there wider than stand suzi springs).

Offset rims

Off the shelf rims with the greatest offset that I have been able to find are by Speedy and are 15x8 with -28mm offset (about 2.5" backspaced).

If you need any more than that you'll need custom rims, or rockcrawlers (or equiv.) from the states.

oh, and i forgot...

I got -25mm backspacing 15x8" F100 rims, which are an off the shelf size. You can go more but that's a pretty big backspace as it is.... the further that you go the more consequences to your CV's and handling.

lol i'd like to see these rims with 4" offset, the hub centre would be outside the rim!!!

get it together, backspacing is measured from the inner rim to the hubface and the offset is from the centre of the rim to the hub face

See it all the time even on some businesses websites that should know better. Do know how many people don't even know what offset or backspacing their rims are and no, answering 'Standard Sierra offset' doesn't count. You see someone selling some rims even ones they've had modified and you ask for this info and all you get is some vague idea or "don't know" or "standard offset" but as there is more than one manufacturer of wheels the offsets vary. :bad-words: Oh and Suzuki Viagra, I'd like to see your -25mm backspacing

Eastern Wheel Works in Victoria made mine, 16x8 with 3" offset, or... 160mm backspacing ;) They're tooooooo frigin' wide for my zook, as I'm running widetracks and I do like my wheel bearings lasting a lil' more than 6 months  My 33x12.5 silverstone's sit a good 1 1/2" - 2" outside the wrangler strangler flares on my truck. Hence I've had new ones made to fit properly inside the boundaries of the flare- mr plod likes it better that way  Also, the guys that sold me the original set must have had no f@rken idea what I meant when I asked if they had 1" -1 1/2" offset. :? Wasted my time and money- even got the rims powder coated and tyres fitted just to find the f@ckers had sold me rims with the wrong specs (didn't check as I thought they'd know what they were on about at a 4x4 shop) It seems everyone has their own opinion, perhaps it would be a good thing for someone to scan a diagram(s) showing this and explaining how 'backspacing' and "offset" are measured
Pics below are the 'old' rims in question...
By the way- they're now $175  ea, dropped the price even though they owe me waaay more... PM me if you're interested guys

oh and for coilly's
in my opinion wrote:

they come with 4" backspacing so any wider rim with 4" backspacing is good - if you want a wider track and for your tyres to foul everything then get something with less backspacing...

4" backspacing is equivalent to approx 12p offset in a 15x7 or 15x8 with zero offset. Speedy Desert Rat 15x7 -15 offset, 15x8 -28 offset or ROH Trak II 15x7 3P offset, 15x8 -10 offset

-3"(75mm) offset would be 1" backspacing and 3"P offset would be 7"(175mm) backspacing. 160mm is 6&1/4" backspacing so your wheel face would be pretty close to the outside edge of the rim. So what do you have?

It would be 175mm then for the old ones and the new ones have the same dimensions as F100 4wd rims 'off the shelf' (so to speak) which would be whatever the equivelant of 1" backspacing is (75-100mm)
Thanx for the correction, I was a lil hazy with figures, good to see someones awake ;)
