hey guys im looking at buying a r51 pathfinder for the mrs to drive. its not going to be a full on offroader or anything just something to take up the beach/ very basic 4x4ing and towing a camper trailer. is there anything i should look out for? thinking about looking at a 05 turbo diesel, manual? any help would be great thanks.

I was going to comment as I have one but mine is ony six months old so i have not had any issues with it. Good truck though, heaps of power, comfortable, not bad in the bush but you cant knock it around, heps of room (more than my GQ), tows well alhtugh I would like better springs & dampers.
Overall I am happy with mine, I just cant give you a long term test report.

Mines an Auto & I love it. I dont think I will go back to a manual. I did read somewhere that the gear changes were not mapped as well as they could be & that they fixed it in my model. The manual ones have had issues with the clutches. A mate of mone has another with low k's but is a 6 speed & bloody hell its laggy. My Auto takes the lag out, apart from the power you would not know it was turboed.
Actually come to think about it I do know another one that has 160k on the clock & its still going strong. I could not tell you what has been done to it but he tows a buggy with it. he even uses the cruise control to do it
