td42 psi boost?

Hey all i have a gu 06 td42 United fuel have installed a stage 1 aftermarket turbo and manta 3inch exaust, i have added myself an ase top mount intercooler boost gauge and manual boost controller can any one tell me a safe psi to run was 9 but now runnin 12 how high can i go without goin over bored??

more boost doesn't really mean more power. it needs to be matched to your fuel. get a pyrometer if you wanna play with boost pressures.

^^^ Great advice. My GQ with a ht18 runs 14lbs with water to air cooler but I spent the money and had my pump modded and the car tuned to suit.

Also "stage 1" is very vague information......

Stage 1 is some changes to the guts of the turbo and a dump pipe etc.
If they fitted it and tuned it I'd leave it alone, there is a reason they set the power for that and a reason they bin that turbo for more power. I would not give it much more even with an intercooler. the HT18 make excellent air heaters when you turn the boost up too much.

It's a basic highflow of the turbine end of the HT18
