Boomerang shackles

Have been looking at shackles for my sierra project and have seen the boomerang shackles (calmini).

What is the advantage?

I was planning on using 2 pieces of c section (not bridged) to maximize travel and avoid binding as much as possible. Road manners are not too much of a concern as the vehicle will not be a daily driver.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have boomerang shackels on my calmini sr lift kit and the only reason i can see that they use them is to clear the metal plate welded to the rear shackel mounts. Though all the travel is upwards i dont think i even need them lol.
