37's on 16's

Well my 37" claws are rapidly fallling apart so im now in diabolical need of new tyres.

I REALLY dont want to change my rims, they are 16x10's with neg76 offset, and roctoy locks.

I would goto 17's but the closest offset i can get is Pro Comps 17x9 in neg 38... thats 50mm less width each side.. and then i would have to goto the hassle of putting locks on again,....

So my issue is No one makes a 37 to suit 16 (available in oz anyway and radial), I have found BFG make a 345/75 16, but are they available in Oz??

Just get Tirerack to send them to your door. Heard a few good reports of guys using these guys to buy tyres.

Just waiting on a return email from tire rack, they have given me a delivered price which is about the same as a set of 375 MTZ's, but obviously theres gunna be import tax on that as the combined order will be over 3k... christ knows how muh that will be tho.. I reckon I will go ahead with it and just see what happens!

Look forward to hearing how you go with them. Hoping to use them to get tyres for the new FJ Cruiser.

So they inform me that theres a 6-8 week wait.... so now im in the same boat as the MTZ's.....

hrmm now I dont know what to do... wait 8 weeks and get MTZ's which i know how much they are gunna cost me straight off the bat.... but they are another 30mm wider.... hrmm but its only 30mm...........

or wait for the BFG's... not 100% sure what customs is gunna sting me.... but then they would be a kool tyre.....

damn decisions! :bad-words:

cant get pro comps 37s on 16's anymore, otherwise i would of went that way. Interco havent returned my emails. Pitbulls, i looked at them and dont do a 37 in a 16 :? .. i'll look again

EDIT: just had a look at the Pitbull site and theres no 37 listed in the rocker to suit 16" rim. But if u download the PDF spec sheet it is listed but there is no specs... :bad-words: So i'd say it doesnt exist

If you change your mind about 17s, Ryano can make these in any offset you want and any colour combo.

Hi Crankycruiser, Out of curiosity where have you been sending your email re interco's as I have not seen any come through.

We have both 36 and 37's to suit a 16" rim in stock (not all radials though). If you want more info on what we have try me on 1300 679 494 or email sales@opw.com.au (it will forward to me) or leave your no: here and i'll call you when I next log on.

Cheers,
Tazz

I had this style of rim (eastern wheel works which build these for fourbys?). And they all developed VERY bad cracks. On one rim the hole spoke broke off.

Tyres turned up today. Thanks for your help Tazz, typical weipa, takes ages to get anything here! Just the way it is. :-(

First impressions they look better than the pics suggest. Reasonably chunky, but still a lot of rubber on the road. Side walls seem pretty thick, so thats a good start.

Will have em on rims tomoz, but I want to paint my lock rings, so won't be on cranky till probably fri night.
