Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Currently own a LN106 and looking at newer hilux for daily duties and play.

I am yet to see a kit that I am after. Looking for a prerunner style kit with much better travel than the aussie kits offer.

I want it engineered in NSW and the new laws seem a bit tough to get around.

Was possibly thinking of grafting in the front of a tundra from the diff out to the hubs. 1910mm wide vs hilux: 1689mm wide. Or a tacoma at 1780ish.

Landcruiser is another possibility as it's easier to get here but was thinking of the others because of avalible kits from the US.

Just rattling off a whole lot of thoughts to try and get some direction.

Any advice would be appreciated.

You want to put an IFS kit in or put a solid diff in?
Whats a prerunner style kit?

I think youll have a bit of trouble grafting the front chassis section from an american car because id imagine theyd be different

Sorry I should have clarrified, after IFS. Looked at converting to solid and liked the job that bud did, but wanted to keep the IFS.

I am sure they are quite different but i'm not sure yet if anyone has looked at doing this conversion.

A prerunner style kit I was referring to is one that is aimed at higher speed offroad work.

I know IFS is not a popular solution but I would like to try it.

Even something like bru was looking at in 4wd and under a hilux.

Is this possible to engineer or is this pipe dreams?

Regardless of whether the IFS is a good idea or bad, you're asking the wrong people.

Get some picture/diagrams/examples of what you want to do. Put it together along with a DETAILED plan of what you want to do, how you plan to do it and take that to an engineer in your state.

That's the ONLY way you're going to get a definitive answer.

As to whether the IFS is good or bad idea, how long an argument do you want?

have a look on RDC and OFN for Medium Travel or Long Travel kit suppliers, the hilux is a vigo and if you get a chassis diagram you might be able to find a current toyota truck in the states that shares the same dimensions and do what you want with the info.

as for fabricating arms, talk to an engineer, they will be the only ones who can say yes or no.

ln106? Total chaos if you can afford it, blazeland if you can't haha.
Both will increase the track, better flex than standard and handle the high speed stuff great! No idea about legalities though
