Hi teetotallers
I"m lookiing at axle options and one of those is Currie Rock Jock HP 60's
Although these are based on the 9.75 ring and pinion Dana 60, i have heard of at least one person in the states who has been busting the ring and pinion on a full size rig.
Does anybody here run on or have any real world experience with these axles on a full size rig?
How does the casting and tubes axle hold up to a fully fabricated housing like spider/diamond/ruffstuff housings? Has any body seen the castings crack or bend?

Jason has one under his Koh rig.
Youd be looking at about 2k for the housing alone landed.
Filled and built with 300m shafts/joints probably around the 8k mark
Ive never seen a rockjock housing heavily trussed so they must be pretty strong.
Are you able to mod them to run a d70 gearset?

Not sure. IIRC you can run D70 stuff in a factory D60 housing, but these obviously aren't factory housings and they've made them as lowprofile as possible.
Frankly if it's going to be that much for the full house set up then i'd rather go and pay the same for a spidertrax or ruffstuff housing since i can then go and weld on to the center pumpkin for trusses as well.
Ben Napier bent the shit out of his front housing twice now so it IS possible and he recommended doing a bit of truss work.

You can weld to the rockjock pumpkin and the standard ones too. It just takes a little more effort.
Your right though, they are quite exxy. I think the rockjock housings are more aimed at the lighter KOH (ultra 4) style rigs where large tires are not suitable but they still want clearance.
Send WFO Concepts an email, thats where i got my danas built.
Dont be discouraged by the prices i have stated, they may be alot cheaper now.
