Hey all again!! My old boy is looking at up grading his 08 3ltr st patrol manual wagon , to an 09 ti 3ltr auto wagon. Iv heard the autos eat more diesel than the manuals? Is this true?? Can someone give me some figures on them? Not towing, no bigger tyres. Cheers

Autos will most certainly chew more fuel and i feel are hard to drive in the middle of the rev range. To me it feels either Grandad speed or flat out and then the fuel dissappears  I would say atleast 1-2 L/100 possibly more on mine against a manual if driven hardish. I have had 3 autos now. I drive/ rep so get the auto for convienience/lazyiness and don't pay for fuel so that helps. Auto will drive quicker (without lag or manual gear changes and will do it all day long) you must just accelerate 5 seconds before you actually want to move.

08-09 seems a pretty minor change, why not buy new st (as are upspec'd anyways) and drive them hard on dollars. This one was just over 50k Auto onroad bull bar spotties tow bar & Warranty! ont own a 3L out of warranty...................... Yards wanted 48 for 3 yr old ones!!
