He guys

Need some help deciding on what to do with my old series 3 land rover.
As it stands it’s a bits a car it has a holden 202 motor with a series 2 gearbox and I think the rest of its series 3 O and the chassis is mostly rust (thanks the previous owner who bogged up the whole chassis and painted it before he sold it to me). The whole think has just been thrown together. I have heard but I don’t know if its true of people putting a series land rover on a rang rover chassis with not to much work?
That’s the option I would like to take but after doing some research I haven’t found any builds or should i just fix the rust and keep it as stock. I have no problems with welding and its not my only car so I don’t mind having off the road for a year or so.

Throw out the chassis, buy a range rover or discovery chassis, and transplant the body onto the chassis.
Then change then engine and gearbox and then do what ever. or keep the engine and gearbox, your call at the end of the day
