Just wondering what recommendations people have for getting those old black plastic bumpers, flares and external trims back to a shiney finish??
Preferably some products that are non silicon based would be great as they just seem to get more dust and sh!t stuck to them.

Super Bike Shine from a dirt bike shop works really well on plastic and rubber and lasts a fair while.
Motul also make a similar product, but it has a strong orange scent to it. Also from bike shops that sell motul oils.

I've seen someone use smooth peanut butter before. Use a cloth and rub it in, circular motion. Natural peanut oil apparently does the trick.

It works but attracts ant's. Bee's wax lasts longer and no ants.

I have this and looks good, but appears to be silicone based. Trying to steer away from these type ones.

I use an aerosol of Lanolin and a rag, brings all the raw plastics and rubbers up like new.. Lasts only a couple of weeks though.

Rip it off and build a steel bar, then paint it whenever you can't see yourself in it.

This stuff works REALLY well, and unlike most other options mentioned, lasts a long time and is easy to apply.
I used it on all the external plastics on the landie and it has lasted years in the sun.

The best one I have heard of is "Forever Black". I actually bought some over ebay from the US because it gets such a good rap. Seems okay.

I couldn't find a local stockist at the time but maybe there are some now.
